Born in Moscow on 25 January 1917, from 1929 resides in Brussels where he directs the International Institute of physics and chemistry Solvay. Also Director of the Center for statistical mechanics of Texas at Austin. In 1977 RECEIVED the Nobel Prize in chemistry thanks to a theory thermodynamics applied to complex systems, which was also the subject of his doctorate in 1945.

A biological system can be ordered inside only if it is surrounded by a large flow of energy that passes through without stopping for a long time. A possible energy stagnation also destroys the internal coherence of the system. N.b. stagnation (block): occurs when the system absorbs energy without trade with the outside world, thus destroying its ability dissipativiva.
Destroying the dissipativity, also destroys the internal coherence of the system. Coherence of the system means that all its components vibrate in unison, i.e. have the same vibrational frequency.
